Mosquito Borne Illnesses

Fleas and Ticks

When mosquitoes are biting it can be nearly impossible to enjoy being outside of your home. Mosquito bites expose us to many insect-borne diseases like West Nile virus, Zika, and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). Our Barrier treatments are the solution to your mosquito problems.

Our primary goal is to target mosquitoes, but our products are also effective at reducing ticks and fleas in your yard as well. Other pests such as flies, gnats, and spiders can also be reduced initially through our treatments, but will most likely come back before the 21-day life of the mosquito product.

Typically, a mosquito control treatment will take an average of about 20-30 minutes.

How long does a treatment last?
Treatments last around 21 days. If you have signed up for our season-long plans or multiple spray packages a technician will be scheduled to provide the next treatment at the conclusion of that 21-day period.

Does the grass need to be treated?

What types are products will you use in my yard and are they safe for my family and pets?
There are two main products used to treat mosquitos, a barrier spray that uses synthesized forms of pyrethrums called pyrethroids. Pyrethrums are a natural byproduct of the Chrysanthemum flower. Synthetic pyrethroids have similar chemical structures as pyrethrums and are used in many commercial products such as pet shampoos, household insecticides, and lice shampoos. Our products are water based and when mixed with water will not harm plants.

Do I need to be home during the treatment? As long as our technician is able to access the entire yard that needs to be treated and any animals are inside we will be able to complete our treatment.

How will I know a treatment has been completed? After each treatment, our technician will leave a door hanger detailing what they have done as well as any comments or helpful things that the technician may see that could better help keep your yard less inviting to mosquitos, fleas, and ticks.

What happens when it rains after my yard has been treated? The key is that our product needs approx. 30 minutes to dry after being applied in order to ensure a full 21 days of effectiveness. If there ever is a problem between treatments, we will return and reapply products to your yard to ensure that you have a bite-free outdoor living space.
